March on D.C. Event Update Please Read Carefully
Dear Rick,
With thousands registered online at 912dc.org
and many more expected from all corners of the country, the 912
Taxpayer March on Washington is going to be a huge, historic event.
There is a lot going on both that Saturday and the two days prior so
please read the information below carefully to ensure you don’t miss
out on anything.
Thursday, September 10: Liberty Summit
If you haven’t registered for the Liberty Summit yet, please do so here.
The Liberty Summit will feature panels on healthcare, cap and trade,
bailouts, and grassroots advocacy. Speakers include Senator Jim
DeMint, Rep. John Shadegg, and other prominent policy and grassroots
organizing experts. Help save us time and money by downloading a copy
of your Liberty Summit Action kit here. The kit includes policy research, talking points, and important information about visiting your Senators and Representatives.
The Liberty Summit will be held at the D.C. Armory (see map) and will start at 9:00 am on September 10. The Armory is conveniently located on the Orange and Blue Metro lines near RFK stadium. Buses
will also be available between 8am and 9am and will pick up at the
Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, the Marriott at Metro Center, and the
Courtyard Washington. This event is an important chance to learn more about the issues facing our country, ask questions of experts, and gain
important communication tools.
Following the Liberty Summit, FreedomWorks and the RSC are
co-sponsoring a press conference at Upper Senate Park and everyone is
encouraged to visit your legislators to tell them in person to oppose
the big-government tax and spend plans coming from Congress.
Friday, Sept. 11
On Friday, several local organizations are holding training sessions
where you can learn how to raise money for a grassroots organization,
how to communicate effectively online, and how to effectively advocate
on behalf of capitalism and free markets. Be sure to check out the agenda and register online to secure your place.
Saturday, Sept. 12: Taxpayer March on Washington
Saturday is the main event and crowds will be gathering at Freedom Plaza (see map)
at 9:00 am. There will be speakers and music until the march kicks off
at 11:30 and proceeds down Pennsylvania Avenue to the West Front Lawn
of the Capitol. The official rally will begin at 1:00 p.m. A ticket
is not required for the march or rally; registering helps us estimate
attendance.
Be sure to check the website for bus drop off information and a list of things you can bring.
Thank you for being a part of this important event. Regularly checking the website and being a part of your state’s social network is the best way to be sure you have all the information you need and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
See you on September 12!
Sincerely,
Matt Kibbe
President FreedomWorks
P.S.
It’s not too late to help support the 9/12 March on Washington. As the
crowds grow, there are additional needs that must be met. Please
consider making a gift today.
