It is as if it is a period of civil war. Rebel Tea Parties and Patriot groups, striking from grass roots organizations, have yet to take control of our federal representatives in what is becoming an evil empire. Unfortunately, this is not a sci-fi adventure but an all too real battle to keep our God given liberty. We have too long allowed our government to grow in size and power and now we find it near impossible to take back control. Despite the resent loses on the federal level, here in Virginia we have a new hope! What is more, this hope need not be contained to our state. In fact we must spread it to all 50 states and in doing so remind the world what LIBERTY means. I get ahead of myself though. I'm sure you're asking what the hope is. Simply put it is as it has always been, the power comes from we, the people. It then is passed to our governments as we see fit. That first level of government is local then STATE. It is on these levels we are most able to take control and in Virginia, with your help, we are on our way. An almost forgotten 10th amendment to the Constitution of the United States declares that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Virginia is among the states rediscovering this with at least 3 bills being proposed in January's session. Read more here on VA10thAmendment.org. Delegate Charles (Bill) Carrico will lead the charge in the House on the Virginia Firearms Freedom Act (VFFA), a 10th amendment challenge to the powers of Congress under the commerce clause that prohibits the federal regulation of firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition manufactured and retained in Virginia. Bob Marshall, Delegate to Virginia's House, has with a clear one page bill that defends Virginia citizens from being enslaved by the federal government under this unprecedented attack on our freedom under the guise of health care reform.
