At noon on July 17th, 2009, patriots across this nation will participate in a small battle in the war for independence. In this battle no one will take up arms, no one will die or be injured, but it is a battle non the less. For this battle some will come from home, some will come from work, some will commit a day and some just a lunch break, but all are patriots in battle. These are men and women that have a common understanding of the nature of man kind, that we are made to be free! That freedom is in danger. The powerful in Washington want to be more powerful and they are out to rob us of a little bit more of our independence in the guise of taking care of us. Dwight D. Eisenhower said it best; "Every step we take towards making the State our Caretaker of our lives, by that much we move toward making the State our Master." The powerful in government have for generations sought to overcome that part of humanity that yearns for independence and provide in it's stead a sense of security. The product of this welfare system can be seen in almost any city, just across the tracks from Bobby Scott's office for example. It is a hopelessness, desperate for escape but no longer the will to fight, no longer the independent spirit of humanity. Again, men and women that still understand that we are made to be free will be at their congressman's office at noon on July 17th. They will be there as patriots, as citizens and as human beings that know the war for independence continues! |
